We are all benefiting from the great feminists who struggled and suffered and worked to give us everything women now enjoy... I refer to myself as a feminist, and I do it with pride.

Consultations

You can make a difference!

Consultations are formal exercises carried out to seek the views of people and organisations on things the Government is proposing to do.

Wales Women’s National Coalition regularly responds to consultations on policy documents from all portfolio areas of the Welsh Assembly Government, as well as from Westminster and other public bodies. Consultations are formal exercises carried out by governments to seek the views of people and organisations on things that the government is proposing to do.

In order to do this effectively we:

  • Seek to build a wide and representative base of members across the whole of Wales and across all of our focus areas
  • Regularly communicate with our members to hear, collate and effectively represent their views. We do this through:
    • discussion and correspondence with groups specifically interested in the area of consultation;
    • focus groups and workshops;
    • surveys and questionnaires;
    • our contact page.
  • Organise regular free conferences and other meetings
  • Conduct independent research
  • keep up to date with members’ and other organisations’ research into issues affecting women in Wales to inform our policy responses
  • Chair and facilitate discussion on specific topics to establish and defend the views of our members – the women of Wales.

Please browse through this part of the website to see responses we have written to previous government consultations, and news of consultations that we’re currently working on – and, most importantly, how you can get involved and make your voice heard.
