Words to Wales

Thursday, January 21st, 2010

Disability Wales and Disability Arts Cymru will be running three workshops around Wales providing an opportunity for disabled people to tell their story. These stories can be about specific experiences in your life as a disabled person such as school days, journeys, work, life events, finding a home, and getting support from services.

The workshops will help you turn your experiences into a poem, short article, monologue, sketch or any other form of expression.  With your permission, work produced will be edited into an on-line publication and included in a set of display boards.

It will help others such as people working in public services, the media and the general public to have more insight into the lives of disabled people and raise their awareness of both the positive and negative experiences.

All workshops are free and run from 10am until 3.30pm
Lunch will be provided and travel expenses will be reimbursed.  If you have any particular access requirements please let us know when booking and we will make the necessary arrangements.

Dates/venues:

•        25th January (Theatre Mwldan, Cardigan)
•        2nd Feb (Wrexham Arts Centre, Wrexham)
•        9th Feb (Chapter Arts Centre, Cardiff)

Come along and join us!
